Blip TV

At last. I have found a site that allows me to post videos I take with my Samsung SCH-a930... I'm totally stoked. I can rate my videos, upload them, title them, visitors can comment on them, and just below "Recent Entries" on the sidebar, there are thumbnails of the last five videos. My profile on Blip is available at http://addisontodd.blip.tv. You can comment on videos, check out my NFO, and other things there. We should have a blast with this, loyal visitors. Plan on some real idiocy being posted.

Twitter

Yes. I'm on Twitter. My profile is at twitter.com/addisontodd.

It's a neat idea. Register, than post short (under 160 characters) updates about what you're doing at any given moment. Update it from IM, the web, (twitter.com) or send TXT messages from your phone. Their tagline is "What are you doing?". It's also fun to watch the public timeline. You can add your friends and get updates on what they're doing. There are also some neat users on there. For example, I follow Darth Vader. His updates are hilarious! I also follow zombieattack. A small town under attack by zombies. Their bio says "The world is under attack by zombies. Watch what happens." Awesome. So, why am I posting this? I guess to say get on Twitter. It's fun. It's addicting. If not, you can see my updates to Twitter on the right hand side underneath "Recent Entries". Have fun!

The Official Merchandise

Everybody seems to think that is some type of prank. No. It's a 100% authentic. I design shirts, set a price, put them in my store, you buy the shirts, shirts get shipped to you, I make money, and everybody lives happily ever after.... Any more questions can be posted in the comments and they will be answered by updating this post.

Didn't get on the computer at all last week. Hence the lack of updates. That really seemed to tick some of you off. Oh well. Posting has resumed.

Site Changes

Severel changes are visible this morning. Most notably, I've uploaded a new gallery program. You can see it at http://addisontodd.com/gallery/ Also, I updated the music player. Now, it plays a good deal more than it used to, and it's a heck of a lot easier to use. Feel free to Launch The Player.

What's going on

So. Time for an update.

Firstly, some links:

1. The Official Seal Generator
Perhaps mine'll change, but for now, it is what it is.
I'll be darned if I'm not doing exactly what Walljm did this past week. But oh well. Anyway, I'm wanting to buy a shirt with some money that some very good friends gave to me. So, here are the main options. Please only vote for one. Leave your mark in the comments.
ThinkGeek :: Geek Love Poem T-shirt
ThinkGeek :: Insufficient Memory
ThinkGeek :: I'm with Genius
ThinkGeek :: Arrgh
ThinkGeek :: user error
ThinkGeek :: Killer Coding Ninja Monkeys
ThinkGeek :: The Ultimate Inequation

Site Admin:

I've added a new plugin behind the scenes. It's called Blogroll. I can add links alot easier. However, right now, they're not showing up on interior pages. Only on this main page. Should be fixed in a week or so. Also, I added a new song to the "Listen Now" link. Josh Groban's "My Confession". The lyrics are on there way in the next week or so. On that note, I added a new category named "lyrics". I figured heck, I post lyrics often enough. So, to see lyrics in the future you can browse that category. :)

Personal Update:

Up to a full schedule of school now. Well, what I mean is that all classes for this semester have started. On another note. Graduation sounds really cool at this point. I'm really looking forward to it. In fact, I can't even begin to describe how much I want to graduate. Along with the completion of school, senior year is throwing into stark reality some questions for me. The main one of which is.... What next? Several options readily present themselves. Most of which (except for "travel the world over doing, well, nothing") seem very logical. I guess what I could really use right now is God's direction. Prayer for me in this area'd be great.

A number of old friends have been popping up in my life lately. Ironic, odd, coincidental, and freaky all at the same time. To any that read this site, and happen to be one of them, it's cool to see you again. :) If you're there, post in the comments. :)

I think that's all for now.....

I was thinking about a new poll question, then I though it would perhaps be a good idea to ask the user what type of poll they'd like. So, what poll would you like to see?

Blog write-ups.

Something new I'm going to do is blog/website write-ups. When I find a cool site, instead of just linking it, I'll do a short write-up. Much like the following one...

Blog Write-Up: Briefly Put

Who: Harrison and I.
Where: http://brieflyput.blogspot.com
What: A blog that's not always "brief" about politics and current events. It's updated semi-frequently, and, (in my opinion) is a great place to go for the current events of the day.

Fixed... I think

My apologies fair readers. Things got quite a bit hairy. I attmepted to update to Movable Type 3.2. In the process I deleted all my config. (!) Oh well. Things should be working fine now. Again, I apologize. In the process, the last post was not posted right, but it's online now. So, you might want to check out the last few posts.

I think all the problems are behind me now. Things are looking good.

Tinkerings

Hmmm. Things seem to be not working right. For some reason, some posts didn't get published over the latter part of the week. While I find a solution to the problem, you might want to read the last five entires or so, because they are probably new to you. Sorry about this. I'll try and see what the problem is.

Paypal

You can now use any major credit card or a Paypal account to make a secure donation to this site. It's tax deductible, and this site does cost money, so, if you're feeling generous, the button is located at the very bottom of the sidebar. It's quick, easy, and I get money! Amazing.

New blogging method

I'm using a new platform for blogging. Here's a quick rundown of what that means for you, and also for me.

For Me:
1. I can edit everything my self. No more evil Blogger!
2. I can set up mulitple blogs. Don't think I'll do this, but a plus nontheless.
3. Links, design, and the behind the scenes will be controlled by me.
4. I can post in the future. Meaning that I can post something for next week, and it'll appear when I want it to. This was the main reason for the switch.

For you:
1. All your previous comments are gone. This really stinks. This was the main hesitation in switching. I suppose that's an excuse to comment more to re-establish your name with my site. ;-)
2. Movable Type will remember your comment NFO so you don't have to enter it every time.
3. The site feed will be available for your favorite newsreader, or FireFox.

So, in closing; if you find anything wrong, or not working, please let me know what happened and I'll get it fixed. Also, DO NOT change your bookmark to the new address. I have it changed for the moment to http://addisontodd.com/blog1/, but it's not going to stay that way. You can access this one via http://addisontodd.com/blog/ and, after I shutdown blogger, I'll move it to that directory anyway. I repeat, DO NOT change your bookmarks or links, if you do, you won't be able to access it in the future. Of course, for some, that might be a benefit... ;-)

Misc. Updates

The Concorde

The Concorde was such a cool plane. I’ve never actually flown on it, but it was truly awesome. It was an amazing bird. It was a supersonic transport plane. It was beautiful. It was a community. It was too darn expensive for everyone, but it sure was a cool plane.

Why all this talk about the Concorde? Well, I dug through some old VHS tapes and played one that’s a PBS documentary about it. It’s too bad they discontinued it. Sure was cool while it was around. 9/11 killed it. About 40 of the most frequent flyers of Concorde were killed in the WTC attacks.

The War of The Worlds

In other news; In my recent literary excursions, I have finished H.G. Wells’ famed novel about alien invasions from Mars, The War of The Worlds. Now, the commentary. At first it seems like timing really is everything. I started it when I started reading Tale of Two Cities. When I started War of The Worlds, it seemed like a rather hard read. A good read, but nonetheless a hard one. So, as time progressed, I sort of stretched my literary ability on Tale of Two Cities. Due to schoolwork (and mainly laziness) I had set down The War Of The World’s for a decent amount of time. Then I got the War Of The Worlds DVD from the library. (The old one) It was a really good movie. So, seeing that got me wanting to read the rest of the book. So I did, and due to reading Tale of Two Cities, it seemed like a lot more of an easy read than it did in the beginning. It was really interesting. The first person style of writing is very convincing. One feels as if they are actually conversing with an eyewitness to the Martian invasion. At the start of the book, H. G. Wells emphasizes the character’s experiences following the Martian landing near his house. On the other side of the halfway mark, Wells winds up taking on this philosophical look into life and how it pertains to the recent Martian occupation of the world. Some of his conclusions and ideas are a bit muddled in terms of real Truth, but they are very interesting nonetheless. This is quite possibly the book’s coolest quote: “I felt the first inkling of a thing that presently grew quite clear in my mind, that oppressed me for many days, a sense of dethronement, a persuasion that I was no longer master, but an animal among the animals, under the Martian heel. With us it would be as with them, to lurk and watch, to run and hide; the fear and empire of man had passed away.” Awesome.

Blog update

I hope this blog is not turning into being wholly about my literary experiences. My truest apologies, I will try and post about something different.
