TheReligionofPeace.com - WWMD What Would Muhammad Do?
Been a long time since I've seriously delved into politics or worldviews on the blog. Hope to change that in the future. Ran across this site while browsing around... This is really shocking. Also, the assumptions are all backed with facts many times straight from the Qur'an. Hence my filing this post under "Nothing But Truth"

Iran... Is anyone serious?
This article from Drudge is scary. At least it is to me. Maybe it's becuase I take half-crazed despot nations seriously. Am I a paranoid freedom-freak? Or is the rest of the world careless... or what? Iran is a threat. That's easy enough. Why don't we do something? A much harder question. The old argument; "do we have the right to police the world?" comes up. The answer? In my book, I don't know. At first glance, no. But, when does a nuclear program of an outlaw nation become a significant threat to my safety that I do something about it? This is why geo-politics are frustrating to me. Also, when do we do something? At the first site of despotism? Or afterwards; perhaps when it's to late...? Once multiple cities are vaporized, whether by dirty, carry-in bombs, or by missles from other nations, it's to late. Some thoughts on the world.... What are yours?

That lovin' feelin
Don't even think about the title of this post. It has nothing to do with the content. It just seemed like a title....
I've got that feeling again. Like I want to do something, but have no clue what. This time it's huge. I want to do something big, something that'll change my future big time. What the heck that is, is anyone's guess. Why am I sharing? I don't really know. I guess a question I have is this, does anyone else get these? I suppose not. I'm special! Least, that's what my mom tells me..... ;)

I Can Only Imagine
Song: I Can Only Imagine
Band/Artist: Mercy Me
Album: Almost There
Year: 2001
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine
[chorus]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
chorus
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you

Life and it's frailty
I've been spending the last um-teen minutes making a thousand tiny little updates to my site. Probably things that the average user will never see. I've been struck rather suddenly with the frailty of human life. My last post is rather scary. This time next week perhaps we will be in the midst of nuclear war. Just as equaly, perhaps not.
Even if we lay aside the big fears, people just die every day. I don't want to die. I want to live. I want to get married, have a family... *sigh*
Why am I saying this?

August 22nd: Does Iran Have Something In Store?
August 22: Does Iran have something in store?
BY BERNARD LEWIS
Tuesday, August 8, 2006 4:30 p.m. EDT
During the Cold War, both sides possessed weapons of mass destruction, but neither side used them, deterred by what was known as MAD, mutual assured destruction. Similar constraints have no doubt prevented their use in the confrontation between India and Pakistan. In our own day a new such confrontation seems to be looming between a nuclear-armed Iran and its favorite enemies, named by the late Ayatollah Khomeini as the Great Satan and the Little Satan, i.e., the United States and Israel. Against the U.S. the bombs might be delivered by terrorists, a method having the advantage of bearing no return address. Against Israel, the target is small enough to attempt obliteration by direct bombardment.
It seems increasingly likely that the Iranians either have or very soon will have nuclear weapons at their disposal, thanks to their own researches (which began some 15 years ago), to some of their obliging neighbors, and to the ever-helpful rulers of North Korea. The language used by Iranian President Ahmadinejad would seem to indicate the reality and indeed the imminence of this threat.
Would the same constraints, the same fear of mutual assured destruction, restrain a nuclear-armed Iran from using such weapons against the U.S. or against Israel?
There is a radical difference between the Islamic Republic of Iran and other governments with nuclear weapons. This difference is expressed in what can only be described as the apocalyptic worldview of Iran's present rulers. This worldview and expectation, vividly expressed in speeches, articles and even schoolbooks, clearly shape the perception and therefore the policies of Ahmadinejad and his disciples.
Even in the past it was clear that terrorists claiming to act in the name of Islam had no compunction in slaughtering large numbers of fellow Muslims. A notable example was the blowing up of the American embassies in East Africa in 1998, killing a few American diplomats and a much larger number of uninvolved local passersby, many of them Muslims. There were numerous other Muslim victims in the various terrorist attacks of the last 15 years.
The phrase "Allah will know his own" is usually used to explain such apparently callous unconcern; it means that while infidel, i.e., non-Muslim, victims will go to a well-deserved punishment in hell, Muslims will be sent straight to heaven. According to this view, the bombers are in fact doing their Muslim victims a favor by giving them a quick pass to heaven and its delights--the rewards without the struggles of martyrdom. School textbooks tell young Iranians to be ready for a final global struggle against an evil enemy, named as the U.S., and to prepare themselves for the privileges of martyrdom.
A direct attack on the U.S., though possible, is less likely in the immediate future. Israel is a nearer and easier target, and Mr. Ahmadinejad has given indication of thinking along these lines. The Western observer would immediately think of two possible deterrents. The first is that an attack that wipes out Israel would almost certainly wipe out the Palestinians too. The second is that such an attack would evoke a devastating reprisal from Israel against Iran, since one may surely assume that the Israelis have made the necessary arrangements for a counterstrike even after a nuclear holocaust in Israel.
The first of these possible deterrents might well be of concern to the Palestinians--but not apparently to their fanatical champions in the Iranian government. The second deterrent--the threat of direct retaliation on Iran--is, as noted, already weakened by the suicide or martyrdom complex that plagues parts of the Islamic world today, without parallel in other religions, or for that matter in the Islamic past. This complex has become even more important at the present day, because of this new apocalyptic vision.
In Islam, as in Judaism and Christianity, there are certain beliefs concerning the cosmic struggle at the end of time--Gog and Magog, anti-Christ, Armageddon, and for Shiite Muslims, the long awaited return of the Hidden Imam, ending in the final victory of the forces of good over evil, however these may be defined. Mr. Ahmadinejad and his followers clearly believe that this time is now, and that the terminal struggle has already begun and is indeed well advanced. It may even have a date, indicated by several references by the Iranian president to giving his final answer to the U.S. about nuclear development by Aug. 22. This was at first reported as "by the end of August," but Mr. Ahmadinejad's statement was more precise.
What is the significance of Aug. 22? This year, Aug. 22 corresponds, in the Islamic calendar, to the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427. This, by tradition, is the night when many Muslims commemorate the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to "the farthest mosque," usually identified with Jerusalem, and then to heaven and back (c.f., Koran XVII.1). This might well be deemed an appropriate date for the apocalyptic ending of Israel and if necessary of the world. It is far from certain that Mr. Ahmadinejad plans any such cataclysmic events precisely for Aug. 22. But it would be wise to bear the possibility in mind.
A passage from the Ayatollah Khomeini, quoted in an 11th-grade Iranian schoolbook, is revealing. "I am decisively announcing to the whole world that if the world-devourers [i.e., the infidel powers] wish to stand against our religion, we will stand against their whole world and will not cease until the annihilation of all them. Either we all become free, or we will go to the greater freedom which is martyrdom. Either we shake one another's hands in joy at the victory of Islam in the world, or all of us will turn to eternal life and martyrdom. In both cases, victory and success are ours."
In this context, mutual assured destruction, the deterrent that worked so well during the Cold War, would have no meaning. At the end of time, there will be general destruction anyway. What will matter will be the final destination of the dead--hell for the infidels, and heaven for the believers. For people with this mindset, MAD is not a constraint; it is an inducement.
How then can one confront such an enemy, with such a view of life and death? Some immediate precautions are obviously possible and necessary. In the long term, it would seem that the best, perhaps the only hope is to appeal to those Muslims, Iranians, Arabs and others who do not share these apocalyptic perceptions and aspirations, and feel as much threatened, indeed even more threatened, than we are. There must be many such, probably even a majority in the lands of Islam. Now is the time for them to save their countries, their societies and their religion from the madness of MAD.
Mr. Lewis, professor emeritus at Princeton, is the author, most recently, of "From Babel to Dragomans: Interpreting the Middle East" (Oxford University Press, 2004).

The Sad Moral Degradation of America
Recently a co-worker of mine got married after living with her boyfriend for awhile. After she got married and came back into work, one of the other manager's asked how married life is. She replied; "the same".
That's really quite sad. She'd been living with him for so long, that married life was really no different than un-married life for her. That sure won't be the case for me. We've come so far that almost every couple I know lives together before they get married. That's a stark reminder of where our nation is headed.

The life and times of....
Me.
My apologies for not resuming regular updates. It's just, I don't really have much to say. I've got a cold with a chest-rattling cough, and a very annoyying dizziness. Hence, I don't feel like posting. My days at present are this: sleep, eat, cough, do some chores, watch the Justice Leauge. That's about it. So, when I feel better, I'll resume regular posting.

Whiteman AFB
I was gone at a Civil Air Patrol encampment at Whiteman AFB for the last week and several days. If you came looking for an update, I'm truly sorry there was none. That said, If yo ucame and got a "Bandwidth exceeded" error, that was as a result of me not having the time to pay the extra money. So, I had to put out additional money to keep this site online as a result of visitors. I think you know where this is going. A donation would be nice.
Anyway, the encampment was awesome. It was my first one and it was a blast. I got to sit in the cockpit of an A-10 Warthog. I got to see a B-2 Stealth Bomber up close. So close in fact that we could look into the bomb bay, and walk right underneath it. That's something that not everybody gets the chance to do, and I'm grateful. We also got to tour Security forces, where I held all sorts of neat toys, er, weapons. I also sat in a T-38 trainer.
I'll post more later. The main thing is, I'm back, The site is back online, and I'm extremely tired right now.

The world didn't end today. At least it hasn't as of 10:40PM local time. And I'm going to bed. So if it ends, I'll know tomorrow. Oh well. I should have liked to see my new body on the other side.

Xanga needs to be shut down because
Xanga has seriously jumped the shark. The turning point for it's usefullness/uselessness change was adding it's "metros" section. What the heck? Hey xanga, here's a tip, just rename the site from "Xanga" (whatever that means anyway) to "online home for predators to solicite kids who are dumb enough to use it". Really, that's what it is. Especially after they added that metros "feature". If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a rundown on what it is. It basically tells anyone else on Xanga where you live. Gosh! Everytime I think about this I get ticked off! They've gone from a content site where people can post their stuff, to a portal where scumbags can pick up kids. Also, I've even seen Xanga sites where it's basically someone's letter to someone else that they've broke up with. It winds up being nothing but "it hurts so bad, I miss you so much..." Like that's what I want to spend my online time doing. Goodness! Do I ever hate Xanga!

Who will go to America?
Who will go to America? I’ve been listening to that song now for about ten minutes straight. It’s awesome. Cuts straight to the heart of the problem that we have in America. The heathen can’t be expected to evangelize, so it’s up to the Christians. Christians have a great burden for foreign missions. That’s great, but who will go to America? America is not generally considered a mission field. Why not? Sinners are dying in America just as fast as anywhere else. More and more people get born every day in America and every single one of them needs to hear the gospel. America is dying. Gone are the days that our founding fathers died for. Our nation is being eaten alive by false doctrine and crooked worldviews. Like an apple shiny and beautiful on the outside, but rotting and dead on the inside. It is similar to the story of the frog being cooked alive. If you would have said to the founding fathers, “how about an amendment to the Constitution to allow homosexual marriage?” they would have thought you an insane heretic. Same principle with the frog. If you were to throw a live frog in a pot of boiling water, the frog would quickly jump out. However, put the frog in a pot of room temperature water and slowly heat it up to boiling, the frog would be cooked alive. That’s exactly what is happening to America. Slowly, over years of instituting evil bit by bit we are what we are today. Divorce was virtually unheard of in early America. Now over half of every marriage ends in divorce. That’s not even counting the people that don’t get married and have kids anyway. I don’t know for sure but isn’t it so that over half of all children born in America are born not knowing both parents in a typical mother/father family institution? America needs people to stand up and be wholly sold out to God. That’s all God is looking for. Oh, I can’t. I’m not a preacher or a missionary. That’s baloney. Not everyone will come to church or be touched by a missionary. What about those people that just live here? I went shopping and as I looked at all the people, I just pondered this thought. There were at least a hundred people in the store including shoppers and employees. Over half are not born again by any statistic. What does that mean? They’re dying. Just dying. They die that very minute and slip into eternity separated from God and tortured in a devil’s hell forever.
Who Will Go to America?
They left their homes in America
To cross the ocean wide and blue.
They carried their cross, not caring the loss
So other souls could hear the truth.
But the light’s grown dim in America
And sin will be our nation’s doom.
We need more preaching in America
For Jesus is coming soon!
Chorus
Who will go to America?
Land of the red, white, and blue.
Who will go to America?
Tell me brother, why not you?
Our Saviour sends His children forth
To go to every land
To the islands of the uttermost
To find forgotten man.
But the most forgotten mission field
Is within our country’s shores
So who will go to America
She needs Jesus Christ the Lord.
