Article

Apologies, I neglected to post the article that I referenced in the last post. Here it is...

Also, I have recently borrowed Josh Groban’s album, Closer. Interesting dude; this Josh Groban guy. He seems to have a really clear and true voice, rather than a scratchy, breathy, or wavering one. The best song on the album is Remember when it rained. It’s awesome. Here are the lyrics.

Wash away the thoughts inside
That keep my mind away from you
No more love and no more pride
And thoughts are all I have to do

Remember when it rained
I felt the ground and looked up high and called your name
Remember when it rained
In the darkness I remain

Tears of hope run down my skin
Tears for you that will not dry
They magnify the one within
And let the outside slowly die

Remember when it rained
I felt the ground and looked up high and called your name
Remember when it rained
In the water I remain

Running down...

I’ve Got Ubuntu!

Yup, I’ve got my hot little hands on a copy of the popular freebie Linux distribution, Ubuntu. The CD I’ve got is actually a live CD. Which means it can be run off the CD and it won’t screw up my computer at all. ā€˜Tis very cool. Unfortunately, the fact that it’s running of the CD severely limits the actual operability of the OS. Not to worry though, I’ve got the full version on its way in the mail.

Why Linux?

Ok, so, you’re asking yourself, why Linux? Isn’t that for people that hate Microsoft? In answer to your question, NO! It’s not for people who hate Microsoft. Linux is the under-the-hood OS. It’s for hackers. Ok; I just opened a can of worms. Half the people that read this blog are going, ā€œuh oh, hacking… that’s bad news… you can get put away for thatā€¦ā€ Those that know me know what’s coming next. Hacking is not illegal. Ok, not my hacking. Hacking is Linux. Hacking is the Open Source community that makes software and distributes if for free because they believe that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Hacking is BY DICTIONARY DEFINITION ā€œcreatively solving problems with a computerā€. The term originated to refer to people who built their own computers out of parts. They ā€œhackedā€ it together. Then, it started to be applied to what I use it for. Now; unfortunately, the popular definition is applied to people that do illegal things. Someone who is into computers. No, I didn’t say someone who can use them, someone who’s good at using them, someone who is seriously into them. It’s someone who goes to websites to see the design not the content. It’s someone that uses Firefox because the like it, for whatever reason, not because they hate Microsoft. It’s someone who, when they find out that they can make their cellphone run an obscure Unix based OS says, ā€œNow that’s cool.ā€ That’s a hacker. I’ve got more proof for the skeptics. See this doc. I didn’t write it, someone else did. It really dives into hacking and what it really is. Especially read the part about crackers. If you don’t read anything else, you have to read that part. It’s highlighted to stand out.

Update

My apologies

It seems that I’ve been too busy to post to my site like I really should. Unfortunately, the same is true for Briefly Put.

Anyway, to update: It seems that I’ve been busy with CAP, church, and, yes, even school. It may be awhile before I post for real again. Life is getting pretty busy. We’ll see. All those who have ever verbally trashed about posting silliness, (mainly Ruth) take notice. This is what I would call a silly post. It doesn’t happen often, so enjoy it.

My sanity

Disclaimer: anything beyond this point is posted purely as a humorous subject and should not be considered factual, or grounds to second guess my true self, which, in case it hasn’t been clarified, is purely genius. That being said…

It would seem that an explanation is in order based on Harrison’s comments. Due to my unstable nature, it has become clear to those that waste their time around me that I need people to keep me in line. Among those that have stepped up is Paul, who takes on the role of my therapist, and Harrison, my lawyer. Now, let me make it clear that statements made on their part by no means can be attributed to me, and should not be considered a representation of my views and opinions.

I understand that it might worry some of my loyal fans that I am losing screws and coming apart at the seams and that our beloved Addison is soon to be no more than a lifeless internet and Mountain Dew consuming machine. Couple this with the fact that I am taking on the role of one of the world’s most famous scumbags, (Nero) and I can see the cause for worry. However, you would do well to eradicate the idea at once. Addison is NOT coming apart at the seams. I have regular sessions with the man we all trust and love, (Paul) and my legal matters are handled with utmost delicacy by Harrison.

You see, the genius of Addison is not withering, rather it is being put to practice in areas that, shall we say, are less noticeable by the general public. I am still the genius and will continue to be such.

Scary Isn't it?

I’m Nero!

Yes! It’s true! I get to be Nero in my church’s Easter program! It’s gonna be awesome! I can’t wait! I’m growing my hair out and everything. Who woulda guessed Nero could be one cool dude! Just kidding! You know, I hope it isn’t cause for people to question my sanity that I enjoy playing the role of Nero so much. Drat. Also today comes ā€œTaleā€ part 3. Enjoy!

Tale of Two Cities Part 3

Alas! Perhaps I spoke to soon. Chapter 17 (One Night) of Book The Second, The Golden Thread is perhaps the most engaging read yet. Still, it is written in a rather hard to understand fashion. Although things do seem to be turning uphill. I dare say, (and this is shocking considering my previously harsh criticism) that I was unable to put it down until finding out whether Dr. Manette would climb out of his relapse. That shocked the pants off me! I totally did not see that coming in the least. Here his daughter just gets married, her and her father could not be on better terms, they share intimate thoughts and feelings, she gets married, and BOOM! He goes into a relapse. Man. I was very surprised. I still would like to know this means to the whole story though. I mean, it’s interesting, it’s engaging, but I find myself asking ā€œto what endā€? I suppose all secrets shall be revealed in the end. Stay tuned though, part 4 may very well be on it’s way. Or not. We’ll see.
