Version 2.0

The Ultimate Wallet

Well, some of you that read this already know about what I'm about to say. Yes, it's about the Duck Tape wallet. Now, I know the orginal Duck Tape was spelled "Duct Tape", but I'm calling it "Duck Tape", because I'm one of those hard to find individuals that believe that the true Duck Tape is spelled like the feather-bearing animal. So, that said, the picture along with this post is version 1.0. After this, their will be a blank post with a picture of version 2.0.

Now, to explain the differences between the two: The first verison was the first one made, (doh!) and it has less features. While it does have a convenient Credit Card carrying slot, and it is made of more sturdy Duck Tape, it does not have a window pocket for a picture ID such as a driver's license. While I was indeed pleased with version 1.0, it did not have what one typically expects from a hige quality bill-fold. To fix such matters, the window ID concept was born and production started on version 2.0. While it is made of an overall weaker brand of Duck Tape. However, this is a good thing, because it allows us to use more actual layers of Duck Tape, the theory being, that more layers of thinner tape, are better than fewer layers of thicker tape. As for the window, it provides a more than large enough space for a photo ID. And, like version 1.0, it also sports a convenient Credit Card carrying slot.

The ulra-lightweight model is in production and I will post pictures when it is complete.

Pujols

I try to veer away from the evil world of sports on my blog. (I said that for your Harison. ) However, I must mention Phat Albert's homerun last night. It was amazing. Here's a picture.

I'm going to do this one day.

Those of you that are close to me know that I talk of doing this often. Now, thankfully, there are instructions...

How to buy your own private island.

How odd...

Google says: 276,000 for "duck tape"

-and-

3,530,000 for "duct tape"

How interesting that only a slightly different query results in vastly different results...

For you clueless people, notice the spelling of the queries..

State of the Spirit

I thought it was time for me to update my readers on the spiritual state of things in my life. I guess one could call this my written "state of the spirit" address. I apologize for the length, hopefully you'll find it worth reading.

To start, those of you who go to my church already know this, but to get everyone else up to speed; this past weekend I went to a youth conference with my church's youth group. The guest speaker was Phillippe Pinero, missionary to Vanuatu. (spelling?) The conference spoke to me in many areas. One such area was my commitment to the Lord. Think like this; if I were to ask you "are you committed to the Lord's will in your life?" you would most likely say yes. Bro. Pinero posed the question, "how much of your time do you give to the Lord?" Sure, maybe you tythe ten percent or whatever, but how much time do you give to the Lord. This not only includes going to church, but witnessing, praying, reading your Bible, etc. I will take that a step further by pointing out that every breath we have is a gift from God. Our very lives are His. Isn't it the very least we can do to give ten percent or more of what we call "our" time to Him? Now, this doesn't mean that every minute should be spent in the church or something extreme like that. We can spend time with God no matter what we are doing. Prayer doesn't have to involve bowing our head, closing our eyes, wearing a veil, or what have you. It involves speding time in communication with God. That can happen anywhere, anytime. Not just in a tie and jacket at church, not just before a meal, but dressed in shorts and a tee, going sixty miles an hour down the highway. It's all about concentrating more on what's important to God than what is important to us. Why? Because when we love God, we'll want to spend time with him.

Well, so far you know nothing of where I am only what I learned. I realized due to this example and other such examples that I really wasn't giving my time to God. Sure, on Sunday it was all about God, but during the week, God sat on the shelf with my Bible. I didn't consider what God says about my actions, every minute of every day. Now, not to say that I do those things with perfection right now, but it is more of a concentration on my mind.

I was reading these verses in the Bible recently and thought I would post them here for you.

1 Peter 1

6 ΒΆ In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,
7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

[emphasis added]
