Terrorism

It really freaks me out when a terrorist attack happens. With the recent attacks in London; I didn’t actually watch any coverage, and I have yet to gather any more news on it than a 2-minute blurb on headline news. Still, I am affected. I think about the relatives of the people that died. How in the world does one cope with a death like that? Cancer or old age is one thing to die of, but a terrorist attack? Someone took your loved one’s life simply because of his willingness to spread his hate-filled ideology? That’s insane! That’s the kind of thoughts that have been crisscrossing my feeble brain lately. Why do people do things like that?

Also, in response to the comments posted about Nick and Jessica, I think I’d better clarify. In my comment I said something to the effect of “Both Harrison and Amanda have a point...” I posted that, and then when I read it later, I realized that it sounded like I was trying to play both sides of the fence, when only one side can truly be played. The very thought brings to mind a recent presidential candidate who couldn’t buy my vote. Give up? John Kerry. No one has picked up on it yet; I guess you’re all too slow. ;-) Anyway, let me clarify, I think Nick and Jessica did a fine job if you’re strictly talking presentation. However, they just don’t come to mind when I think of true patriotism. Maybe that’s because I’ve got them stereo-typed with their TV show. When I think of true patriotism, I think Sean Hannity, Bill O’reilly, President Bush, Ann Coulter, etc. Not Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. I see it like I would see Michael Jackson running a daycare; sure; he may do a fine job; it’s just not what I see him as. Now; comment on that!
