Thanksgiving
Usually I have no problem at all finding things to be thankful for. This year however, I seem, (at least to me) to be more selfish than any other year. I'm not entirely sure why, I just don't seem to have it this year.On Wednesday, a popular radio talk show host was talking about a grateful attitude. He surmised that the cure for many of society's problems is gratitude. I heartily agree with that assumption. Now, this talk show host is by no means Christian, so Christ, and not even religion was mentioned. He said that mankind in general describes themselves as happier when they have a grateful attitude. He gave the example of a very high class family, or even an individual living in Beverly Hills. This person probably has, (at first glance) everything they could possibly want, (materially) but they're not happy because they don't have what the Osbourne's next door have. The idea can be taken a step farther. Without Jesus, it is possible to have a grateful attitude when one reflects on the things they have in life. However, that will never be a lasting gratitude, it will only be passing feeling. True gratitude comes with knowing that you are compliant with God's will in your life.
