Prophet

Lately I’ve been reading Frank Peretti’s Prophet for the third time. It’s amazing. It really is a good book. It’s about a modern day prophet. Just like a prophet in the Bible, he has to give messages. Hard, tough messages that often people don’t want to hear. Every night, (ok, mostly every night) my family gathers ‘round to read a chapter in the Bible, and pray. Reading Prophet reminds me of when we read the book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah had a really tough time. He gave the same message over and over again, and people would listen. Finally it ended in the destruction of (if I recall) Jerusalem. Yes. Doing God’s will (in Jeremiah’s case) wasn’t very easy. But it paid off. He was spared from the destruction by God’s hand.

Come to think of it, I saw a movie entitled Jeremiah. It was awesome. It was a very authentic and realistic interpretation. Much like Gospel of John was with the book of John. I really like movies made of Biblical events. It really ticks me off when it’s not accurate though. Accuracy is key when making a Biblical film.

Update: Here it is on Amazon.com, and Google...
I admit, I’m rambling. Hopefully it makes sense and is meaningful though…

Today’s Quote:

"...The Truth can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. If you're willing to hear the Truth, it might hurt a little, but you'll come out ahead, you'll benefit. If you're encasing yourself in an illusion and running from the Truth... well, sooner or later it'll catch up to you and then the blow will be a lot more severe. You may not be able to pick up the pieces..." – Frank Peretti’s Prophet
