The Age of Technology and Industry spans from 1865, to just after the turn of the century in 1915. It was one of the most economically prosperous times our nation has had the joy of experiencing. It was a time of invention, ingenuity, and skill. Countless inventions that have altered the course of human history were invented during this time period. Some of the inventions during that period include; dynamite, barbed wire, the torpedo, antiseptic surgery, dry-cell batteries, the electric light, the telephone, the automobile, the type writer, the cash register, the fountain pen, the electric iron, aspirin, x rays, the inflatable tire, the 35mm camera, the zipper, the traffic light, the jukebox, the vacuum cleaner, and even Coca-Cola! This is just a mall sampling of the ingenious inventions of the day that altered our lives forever. This paved the way for modern warfare, modern entertainment, modern medicine, modern science, etc. Without the innovations during this period in our history, our economy would not be where it is today.
Without this valuable period in our nation's history, it is speculated that we might not have won ether World War I or World War II. The events within this period enabled us to be more mobile, they enabled us to do things in a matter of moments that before would have taken hours.
